To make things easy for you, initial usage is included with your plan.

If you exceed that usage in a given month, you are charged the overage.
Chipp charges the direct cost for the model you choose with a 30% service fee.

As a quick reference, $10/mo provides roughly 10 million words on the top models,
more on the smaller models.
